Why Drivers Pick a Used 4Runner
The 4Runner is a midsize SUV built on a truck frame. It handles rough roads, snow, and long trips. Some models add a third row of seats. Owners tend to keep these SUVs for years.
Which 4Runner Years Should You Look At?
Most used 4Runners come from two generations. The 2010 to 2024 models use a 4.0L V6 with a five-speed automatic. The 2025 and newer models use a turbo 2.4L four-cylinder engine. Some newer trims add the i-FORCE MAX hybrid system.
Pick the Right Trim
The SR5 suits daily driving and family trips. The TRD Sport adds a sportier look on the street. The TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro add gear for trails. The Limited adds leather and more comfort features. Newer models add the Platinum and Trailhunter trims.
